Seoul Design Festival

Last stop on my exhibition tour for this year. The Seoul Design Festival was a host to all sorts of design from furniture, industrial, graphic, product, and interior to fashion, interactive media, installations, illustrations, photography, etc. I'd say, hands down, the highlight of this exhibition was the 3D fashion show. The idea was conceptual and much less practical. But it was that in coming years or perhaps even now, fashion show runaways could be converted to cyberspace and the audience with their 3D glasses could watch the show duplicated and projected elsewhere. A whole new corporeal experience and matter altogether. Another neat piece at the exhibition was the wooden chair-like boombox. With 2 speakers on its rear, operating on vacuum tubes, and accessed through iPods or iPhones, the wooden-chassis-bearing boombox was one of the best acoustically pronounced instrument I've heard. Here are some photos; I don't have a picture of the 3D fashion show clip but the boombox is there.

I could use a DSLR. Click here for a higher quality slideshow.
