I remember the day when I took these photos. I remember everything that happened that day. The heavy clouds that took on an irrefutable stance, unmoving, the soft air somehow turned brittle by the wind escorting it, and the light showers of rain that befell my hoodie and my camera. I remember the $25 shoes I've gotten from Spring that wasn't rain-proof and it felt like I was walking with sponges on my feet. I remember bouncing and leaning myself against walls of buildings to take the shots.
Breathing fog, everything gray, heads down, umbrellas up, silent. My kind of day.
Despite the discomfort of the water in my shoes and using my body as a shield for my camera from the rain, I remember being overjoyed. The silence in the campus with nothing but sounds of rain beats. And with the sun hidden, the shadows had come out to play early and danced around the people as they moved. The coldness creeping up my spine and my nerves begging me to take refuge, which I ignored for the sake of photography. I felt proud. I felt alive.
Breathing fog, everything gray, heads down, umbrellas up, silent. April 5, it was. My kind of day.
